Police
Department
The East Hempfield Township Police Department was formed in
July 1963 and consisted of one full-time officer and one part-time
officer. Today, the Department has grown to 30 police officers
and a support staff of police dispatchers and clerical personnel.
Located in the municipal building on Nissley Road, the Department
provides 24-hour service, 7 days a week, and is connected to
the County Communication System. The Department provides a variety
of services to protect the health, safety, and welfare of the
community including law enforcement, crime prevention, A.E.D.-E.M.S.
response, domestic violence conflict resolution, commercial
vehicles inspections and D.A.R.E. (drug abuse resistance education)
instruction in the Hempfield School District. To contact the
