Wheatland Hills Park
The 13 acres located along the west bank of the Little Conestoga Creek north of Columbia Avenue makes a wonderful park. A small playground with swings, slides, and other equipment and an open picnic area are available.

Dorwart Park - Coming soon
A ten acre tract located along Good Drive, near the Park Lawn development, will be improved by EHT as a public park area. Dorwart Park is named to honor Noel S. Dorwart a former Supervisor who also served on various other Township committees.

Hempfield Area Recreation Commission

The Hempfield Area Recreation Commission (HARC) is a non-profit organization committed to improving the quality of life for citizens of all ages by providing a variety of recreational and fitness activities. HARC is tax supported by municipalities comprising the Hempfield School District: East Hempfield Township, West Hempfield Township, East Petersburg Borough and Mountville Borough. HARC’s Board of Directors is comprised of representatives from each municipality and the School District and serves for two-year terms. EHT’s representatives are Nancy Hungerford and Alan Shuss.

HARC operates the Hempfield Sports Complex located at 950 Church Street, Landisville, and is open seven days a week. Fitness, exercise classes, tennis, and year-round swimming are a few of the activities offered. Several membership options are available. HARC invites residents to visit the complex for a no obligation tour or call 898-3102 for additional information. Planned programs and activities are announced in a brochure mailed to households four times a year and advertised on their web site at www.hempfieldrec.com/.
