PROJECTS:


Centerville South - Widening of Centerville Road between Marietta Avenue and Columbia Avenue.  This is a PennDOT project that includes the Township portion of the roadway.  A center turning lane will be added and the bridge/interchange will be raised.  Work is expected to be bid in February/2021 with construction to begin in the summer/2021.  A very aggressive schedule. 

State Road Interchange project is a PennDOT project.  They are currently about 3-months behind schedule.  The switch from the east side to the west side should take place in mid-July.  Completion of this work is scheduled for August/2021.

State Road/Yellow Goose intersection is a developer project and is following along in the State Road Interchange project.  The intersection will be provided with additional turning movement. 

State Road/Harrisburg Pike intersection/roadway project is also a developers project.  State Road will be realigned, a traffic signal installed and the bridge culvert replaced.  Work has begun on the roadway.  State Road will be closed for a period of 3-months later this year to allow for the culvert replacement. 




Purpose
The purpose of the Public Works Department is to promote and oversee the construction and maintenance of the township's infrastructure.

About
The Township's Public Works Department consists of eleven full time employees. They are responsible for maintaining (paving/patching, snow removal and leaf collection) approximately 100 miles of Township roadways, and maintanance of the Township's parks and properties.
