Open Burning
The Township provides curbside leaf and yard waste pick-up, April through October. In 2015 the Township modified the open burning ordinance to only allow fires set solely for recreational, ceremonial, and/or cooking purposes. No permit is required for these types of recreational fires. A permit is required for a bonfire defined as a recreational or ceremonial fire more than 4 feet in diameter and/or more than 2 feet in height, built in the open air, for warmth, entertainment, or celebration. A fire set for agricultural commodities on the premises of a farm operation within an Agricultural Zoning District are also allowed. The complete ordinance can be viewed at ecode.
