Amos Herr Park, Phase 2 is being planned by the Township.  It will include a second pavilion near the Dreampark, additional parking convenient to the existing pavilion, landscaping, bike racks, completion of the trail and an additional set of bocce ball courts.  The Township plans on submitting a grant application to the Department of Environmental Resources (DCNR) in April/2020 to assist in the estimated improvement costs of $400K.  A summer/fall build is anticipated.  Questions or comments can be directed to Cindy Schweitzer ( or 717-898-3100,ext 241)

Amos Herr Park Master Park Plan was unveiled at the May 3, 2017 meeting.

The master plan is a road map for future improvements in the park.

The 56-acre Amos Herr Park located off Harrisburg Pike on Nissley Road and also the site of the East Hempfield Township Municipal Building was donated to the Township by the late Mr. Amos Herr. Mr. Herr was a former high school teacher and coach whose ancestors were among the earliest settlers of Landisville. The park features a "dream park" play area, rental pavilion, soccer and baseball fields, tennis court, as well as bocci court, basketball, and volleyball courts.
